Tyreke Brown Obituary: A Life Cut Short by Tragedy
The community is devastated by the passing of Tyreke Brown, affectionately known as “Basey.” At just 21 years old, Tyreke was a beloved son, brother, and friend, with his whole life ahead of him.
Known for his mild temperament, kind heart, and warm spirit, Tyreke touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Tyreke tragically passed away after a fatal shooting at a Baltimore music venue. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation by Baltimore Police, and no suspect has been identified at this time.
His untimely death has left his family, friends, and the community in deep mourning, grappling with the senselessness of the loss.
In the wake of this tragedy, Tyreke’s family is working to bring him home to Jamaica, where his immediate family resides and where he will be laid to rest.
A fundraiser, organized by Jason Nembhard under the title “Help us lay Tyreke Brown ‘Basey’ to rest,” has raised $1,170 so far, with a goal of $8,000.
Contributions have come from friends and community members, including Daviean Towing, Kevin Gilzene, and several anonymous donors.
Tyreke’s family is heartbroken by this unimaginable loss but deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from the community. They are determined to give him the dignified farewell he deserves, and they continue to hope for justice in his case.
