Famime Ubaldo, Marangely Moreno-Santiago Obituary, Death – Family of Four Tragically Killed in Upstate New York Home, Deaths Treated as Homicides
A family of four was discovered dead in the basement of a smoldering home in upstate New York, and authorities believe their deaths were caused by something other than the fire.
The deaths are being treated as homicides, according to police.
Firefighters found the bodies of two adults, a 2-year-old boy, and a 4-year-old girl while extinguishing multiple fires early Saturday in a home located in Irondequoit, New York.
No arrests have been made in connection with the case.
Irondequoit Police Chief Scott Peters described the scene as horrific, stating, “In almost 32 years doing this job, I’ve never seen anything like it.”
He expressed his outrage at the killing of innocent children, vowing to bring those responsible to justice.
The victims were identified as 30-year-old Famime Ubaldo, 26-year-old Marangely Moreno-Santiago, 4-year-old Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno, and 2-year-old Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno.
The family had moved into the home about two or three years ago, according to Peters.
The police chief noted that investigators are waiting for autopsy results and the medical examiner’s determination of the cause of death.
However, he indicated that the condition of the bodies made it clear from the outset that this would be a homicide investigation.
