After suffering injuries in a motorcycle accident, died away quietly on Friday night, May 10, 2024, at Summa Akron City Hospital. Jim and Micki (Roberts) Burns of Akron, Ohio, welcomed Josh into the world on October 21, 1986.

About Josh Burns

Josh worked for the Wadsworth City Street Department as an equipment operator in the past, and he also owned and operated J & A Angus Beef in Sterling.

He was a member of the Smithville Brethren church and a devout Christian spouse and father. He recently finished building his barn, realizing his lifetime desire of owning a farm. His early visits to his family’s farm in Canada, which fostered an appreciation for both agriculture and workmanship, are credited with inspiring his passion of farming.

Josh enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and riding his motorcycle when he wasn’t working or with his family. Because he inherited his father’s unrelenting work ethic, he was recognized for being able to fix anything, and it showed in everything he did. He picked up compassion and affection from his mother.

A devoted parent, he consistently led his kids in bedtime prayers and tales, coached his son’s baseball and football teams, encouraged his daughters’ daily cheerleading, dancing, and gymnastics performances, and assisted with the 4-H programs.

Josh loved his friend’s company, especially when it came to late-night guitar jams and farming together. He loved going to OSU Buckeyes football games, and he and his father would do it every year. Josh Burns will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and tireless dedication.
