On Friday, authorities in Colorado Springs successfully identified the victim of a shooting that took place on Wednesday evening near the intersection of Interstate 25 and South Nevada Avenue. However, the suspect had not yet been taken into custody.
There was at least one gunshot wound sustained by Paul Cordova, 49, in the vicinity of Interstate 25 and South Nevada Avenue on Wednesday evening, just before 9:30 p.m., according to the Colorado Springs Police Department and the El Paso County Coroner.
Cordova passed away in the hospital. It has been reported by the police that Cordova’s death is being investigated as a homicide; however, as of Friday afternoon, there was not a single suspect in custody.
Detectives are continuing their investigation into the facts surrounding this occurrence, and the police have stated that they do not believe this to be an act of violence that occurred unexpectedly.
