Hyo Sang Obituary :
Authorities have identified the pedestrian who tragically lost her life after being struck by a vehicle in Edgewater on Saturday.
Hyo Sang, 87, of Edgewater, was discovered by law enforcement beneath the vehicle that hit her, although she was not trapped. The incident occurred on Dempsey Avenue around 12:05 p.m.
Emergency responders, including Cliffside Park Ambulance and Holy Name Hospital paramedics, attempted to assist the victim before transporting her to Hackensack University Medical Center Emergency Department Trauma Unit. Unfortunately, she passed away at the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash, a 2016 Ford Escape XLT operated by a 58-year-old man, has not been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
