Sacramento police confirmed that the deceased individual discovered in Rocklin on Thursday morning was an off-duty officer named Daniel Bartlett, aged 30, who is survived by his wife and young child. Bartlett had been a member of the department for over four years and was serving in the south patrol division.
Chief Kathy Lester of the Sacramento police expressed her condolences, describing Bartlett as a compassionate person, friend, and dedicated officer who embodied the organization’s principles.
She emphasized the unexpected and tragic nature of his passing, extending sympathies to Bartlett’s family, friends, and colleagues during this challenging period.
Rocklin law enforcement officers located an unconscious man, later identified as Bartlett, on University Avenue and Larkspur Drive after 6 a.m., according to Sacramento police.
Rocklin authorities indicated that Bartlett’s death was likely due to natural causes and ruled out any suspicion of foul play. Further information regarding the incident was not disclosed.
