Raven Francis Obituary, Death: 29-Year-Old Woman Fatally Shot in Mid-City Identified
Raven Francis, a 29-year-old woman, has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred in Mid-City over the weekend.
The incident took place early Sunday morning, with police responding to a call at 2:45 a.m. following a fight that erupted between two groups at a business located in the 4100 block of South Carrollton Avenue.
As one group attempted to leave, an unidentified suspect opened fire on them, causing their car to crash into a fire hydrant at the intersection of Baudin and South Solomon streets.
Four individuals injured in the shooting received medical attention from paramedics at the scene, while Francis, who was also injured, was taken to the hospital by private means.
Sadly, Francis later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital, leaving behind a community in shock and grief.
On social media, a woman who identified herself as Francis’ cousin expressed deep sorrow over the loss, stating that neither Francis nor her family deserved such a tragedy.
The cousin wrote a heartfelt post, saying, “I go to sleep thinking about you and wake up thinking about you.”
Additionally, a man who described himself as a friend of Francis shared his heartbreak over her death, lamenting that she is no longer with her children and calling her “one of the best people on earth.”
