Morgan Carr Lapeer, MI Death: 26 year-old man died in a hit and run accident

Morgan Christopher Carr, 26, of Lapeer, died suddenly in the early hours of May 4, 2024. He was born in Lapeer on February 11, 1998. Morgan was raised in the Metamora neighborhood and attended Lapeer Schools.

He graduated from the first united Lapeer High School class, although he has always identified as a Lapeer West Panther. As a child, he enjoyed dirt biking with his childhood friend Devin Pfeiffer.

After graduating from high school, he started working as a rough framer for Carr Custom Homes alongside his father. He enjoyed his job and soon advanced to the position of foreman.

Morgan was a keen outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends, shooting guns with Grandpa on the farm, and teaching his pet dog Fiona how to retrieve ducks. Morgan felt most at ease when he was catching salmon up north or walleye fishing on Saginaw Bay with his father, Dave Stuter, Jake Stuter, and Uncle Nate. He enjoyed hanging out in his father’s barn playing darts with friends and relatives, as well as working on the family farm.

Morgan adored his family and friends and will be remembered for his incredible hugs, beautiful smile, and wonderful sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by everyone. Morgan is survived by his parents, Aaron and Rebecca Carr of Metamora; sister, Mallory Carr; grandparents, Frank and Michelle Paschal and Neil and Marguerite Carr; aunts and uncles, Danielle and Ed Deming, Nathan and Erica Carr, Jim and Rachele Potter, Ruth and Pat Idzik; cousins, Madison McKinney, Mackenzie Deming, Gavin Carr, Vanessa Carr; partner, Rachelle Compton; and many dear friends and extended family members. His great uncle, Richard Flanders, and close friend Brennen Zimmerman died before him.

Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors – Capstick Chapel in Lapeer will handle the cremation arrangements. A private family viewing will be held. A public Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, May 10th from 3-7 PM at Metamora Golf & Country Club, 1600 Club Dr, Metamora, MI 48455. Memorial contributions may be sent to the family, which will be routed to the Lapeer County ISD Education & Tech Center: Building Trades Program
