Crystal Daniel Obituary, Death: 45-Year-Old Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Incident on Outer Loop

Crystal Daniel, a 45-year-old woman, has been identified as the victim in a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on Outer Loop on Saturday night.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed her identity and reported that she was struck by a vehicle in the 7700 block of Outer Loop, a location not far from her residence.

Following the accident, Daniel was rushed to UofL Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) officers arrested 37-year-old Michael Dahl in connection with Daniel’s death.

Dahl has been charged with murder, and according to the arrest report, he was speeding when he struck Daniel as she was walking along the road.

After hitting Daniel, Dahl was involved in another crash shortly afterward in the 8300 block of Johnson School Road.

He sustained minor injuries in this second crash and was subsequently treated at UofL Hospital, where police arrested him.

A key piece of evidence in this case is dash camera footage from a witness, which reportedly captured Dahl hitting Daniel.

During his interaction with the police, Dahl admitted that he had been depressed and had been consuming alcohol throughout the day.

A toxicology report revealed that Dahl’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was .342, which is more than four times the legal limit.
