This tragic incident marred an otherwise peaceful Labor Day weekend at the annual event.
Novi Police are actively investigating the shooting and searching for the perpetrator responsible for the murder.
According to Commander Jason Meier of the department, the shooting stemmed from a situation where two groups failed to resolve their differences without resorting to violence.

The incident began with a confrontation between two groups, mostly composed of teenagers, inside the fair on Saturday night.
The altercation escalated into a physical fight in a parking lot, where an individual in their early 20s opened fire.
The shooter, who remains unidentified, fled the scene, leaving the fairgrounds in chaos.
Video footage from that night shows crowds of people desperately fleeing the area.
Darean Davis, a sophomore at University High School in Ferndale, was killed in the shooting, and another 14-year-old friend of Davis was also injured but has since been released from the hospital.
