Dasanee Curry, 18, was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Jail on charges including first-degree murder, aggravated endangering a child, criminal discharge of a firearm, and criminal damage to property. However, Curry was released from the Shawnee County Jail on July 2 without posting bail, as no formal charges had been filed.
The shooting incident also left another woman with life-threatening injuries. Law enforcement officials stated that the incident was linked to gang-related activities. The police requested the public’s assistance in locating Nassir Gill, 19, from Topeka, who was identified as a person of interest in the case.
