Craig Barhorst Obituary, Death: Tragic Accident Claims Life of Beloved Farmer and Devoted Family Man in Anna, Ohio

A devastating loss has shaken the community of Anna, Ohio, with the tragic passing of Craig Edward Barhorst, a dedicated farmer and loving family man. On Sunday, June 9, 2024, Craig met his untimely demise on his family property, doing what he loved, but succumbing to a horrific accident.

Born on May 6, 1986, to Bob and Tammy (Brown) Barhorst, Craig was a proud son and father, leaving behind his loving wife, Lauren M. Fehlan, and their three young children, Tucker, Zoey, and Lilly. His son Noah welcomed him to Heaven, where they will forever be together.

Growing up on a family farm, Craig’s passion for farming was evident from a young age. He was an active member of 4-H and FFA, raising and showing cattle, and later pursued a degree in arts from Wright State in 2004. However, his true calling was being a husband and father, always putting family first.

Craig’s contagious laugh and smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and cherished simple moments with his family, like feeding the cows or checking on them. His love for farming was only surpassed by his love for his family.

Surviving family members include his sister Angie Barhorst, brother Robert “BJ” (Lauren) Barhorst, nieces and nephews Abby, Avery, and Cody, and extended relatives. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Thomas Barhorst.

A funeral liturgy will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Botkins on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation hours on Thursday, June 13, 2024, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Wapakoneta. Donations in honor of the family may be made to support the future educational expenses of his children.

In conclusion, Craig Barhorst’s tragic death has left a profound impact on his family, friends, and the community. His memory will be cherished, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.
