A devastating two-vehicle collision on U.S. 51 in Lincoln County on Sunday evening has claimed the life of a 51-year-old Rhinelander man and his dog. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 911 calls at 10:55 p.m. reporting the accident, which occurred just north of Tamarack Lane in the town of Skanawan, approximately 40 miles north of Wausau.

Upon arrival, deputies found a 20-year-old Crandon woman trapped inside an overturned SUV and the Rhinelander man confined to a utility van.
