Louisville Metro Police are currently conducting an investigation into a double shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 16-year-old and left another boy wounded.
The Jefferson County Coroner confirmed that Sam Kamara passed away at the hospital following the shooting.
A concerned neighbor expressed disbelief at the violence, questioning the motives behind such a tragic event. The authorities were alerted to the shooting just before 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in the vicinity of Dixie Highway and W. Hill Street, close to the Park Hill and Algonquin neighborhoods.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered two juvenile victims with gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to UofL Hospital, where Kamara succumbed to his injuries.
The community member emphasized the importance of nurturing neighborhoods from within to maintain their beauty. The injured boy is reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.
