Sandra Small Mincey Obituary
A man, aged 59, has been arrested following a fatal traffic accident in Burke County that resulted in the death of a woman.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:40 a.m. on October 4 at the intersection of U.S. 25 and Hadden Pond Road, located north of Waynesboro, as reported by the Georgia State Patrol.
Levert Jackson faces charges of second-degree vehicular homicide, misdemeanor, and failure to adhere to a stop sign. He was taken into custody at the Burke County Detention Center on Friday, with a bond amount of $2,550 set.
The collision involved a Cadillac Brougham traveling north on U.S. 25, colliding with the side of an 18-wheeler that was stationary across both northbound lanes. Investigations revealed that Jackson did not yield to the Cadillac.
Both drivers tested negative for alcohol. The victim, identified as Sandra Small Mincey, aged 55, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Coroner M. Bennett.
