Lusine Melikyan, Matthew Vincent Roll Death
The man and woman who were killed in a shooting incident in Coral Gables on Thursday have been identified by the police.
Lusine Melikyan, 41, and Matthew Vincent Roll, 60, lost their lives in the tragic event. However, Suren Mkrtchyan, the 20-year-old son of Melikyan, survived the incident but sustained injuries. The Miami-Dade Police confirmed these details on Friday.
The Coral Gables Police were alerted about the shooting at an apartment building on Granello Avenue at around 9:40 a.m. on Thursday. Upon arrival, the officers discovered the lifeless bodies of Melikyan and Roll, as well as the injured Mkrtchyan.
Mkrtchyan immediately contacted emergency services and informed them about the shooting and the two other victims in the apartment.
He was swiftly transported to Jackson South Hospital, where he underwent surgery. Currently, he is in critical but stable condition, according to the police.
Authorities have determined that Roll was the shooter and that he and Melikyan were involved in a domestic partnership. Mkrtchyan is Melikyan’s son, as confirmed by the police.
Public records indicate that Roll and Melikyan had recently concluded a bankruptcy case in federal court. The motive behind the shooting has not been disclosed by the police, who continue to investigate the incident.
