Hector Garnica Jr Death: Man Dies in I-55 Crash After Wheel Detaches and Van Hits Concrete Bridge Barrier

A tragic incident occurred on the morning of Thursday, June 6, when a 2003 Chevrolet Express Van crashed into a concrete bridge barrier on I-55 in Lincoln County, resulting in the untimely death of Alfonso E. Muraira, a 51-year-old passenger from Matamoros, Mexico.

The vehicle, driven by 56-year-old Hector Garnica Jr. from Brownsville, Texas, was traveling north on I-55 when the rear left wheel detached, causing the van to collide with the concrete barrier.

Alfonso E. Muraira was pronounced dead at the scene, while Hector Garnica Jr. survived the crash.
