Eric Heaney Death
The man who passed away as a result of a collision on Sparks Blvd. has been identified by the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
Eric Heaney, a 79-year-old resident of Reno, was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to Renown Regional Medical Center.
According to authorities from the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, the cause of death was determined to be an accident. Eric Heaney sustained multiple blunt force injuries due to the collision between the two vehicles.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the 500 block of Sparks Blvd. on June 5 in response to a head-on crash. Upon arrival, both drivers were found trapped inside their respective vehicles. The Sparks Fire Department had to extricate both individuals.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. However, it is expected that they will survive.
