Daquan Tucker Death: Two Men Found Guilty of Shooting, Killing Man on Schuylkill River Trail

Daquan Tucker Death – Last year, two individuals were convicted for the murder of a man on the Schuylkill River Trail in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

Cody Reed, 24, from Norristown, and Marquise Johnson, 24, from Philadelphia, were found guilty of murder, conspiracy, robbery, possessing a weapon, and fleeing to avoid capture in connection with the death of Daquan Tucker, 25, from Audubon, Pennsylvania.

On March 2, 2023, at approximately 7 p.m., Tucker visited Reed’s residence in Norristown. Tucker, Reed, and Johnson, who were acquainted with each other, proceeded to walk towards the Schuylkill River Trail in West Norriton that evening. Reed and Johnson then shot Tucker multiple times and abandoned him to perish.

The following day, around 9 a.m., a cyclist discovered Tucker’s body approximately 100 feet away from the Schuylkill River Trail.

Investigators identified Reed and Johnson as suspects in Tucker’s murder. On April 6, 2023, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Reed was apprehended by U.S. Marshals, Atlantic City Police, and Atlantic City’s SWAT team at an Airbnb on North Rhode Island Avenue in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Johnson was not present in the apartment at the time.

Later that evening, around 7:30 p.m., Johnson returned to the Airbnb and barricaded himself inside. The standoff continued for several hours until SWAT members entered the apartment at 11:14 p.m. and discovered Johnson hiding inside a washing machine. He was subsequently arrested.

A judge is expected to formally sentence both Reed and Johnson to life imprisonment at a later date.
