Son 26-year-old James Gan killed mother 56-year-old Mary Gan before shooting himself at Pacific home

On Monday afternoon, a man and a woman were discovered deceased from gunshot wounds inside a residence in Pacific, prompting police to investigate the incident as a murder-suicide.

The Pacific Police Department stated that around 1:45 p.m., a family member contacted 911 upon discovering the deceased individuals inside a home on Cedar Ridge Drive.

According to police, the family member had visited the residence after numerous unsuccessful attempts to establish contact with someone there.

On Tuesday, Pacific Interim Chief Major Don Locke identified the woman as 56-year-old Mary Gan.

Authorities suspect that he is James Gan, the 26-year-old son of Mary.

Gan is reported to have sustained a gunshot wound, while the man’s injuries are consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The investigation into their deaths is being jointly conducted by the Pacific Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

It is currently ongoing.
