Kiara Cheeks Obituary
Kiara Cheeks, aged 35, has been identified by Montgomery County police as the individual who tragically lost her life in a collision involving two vehicles.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at the intersection of Briggs Chaney Road and an exit ramp for the Intercounty Connecter in Silver Spring. The police statement, released on Monday, did not disclose Cheeks’ place of residence.
Upon receiving a report of the collision at approximately 12:44 a.m., personnel from the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, along with police officers, promptly responded to the scene.
The collision took place at the intersection of Briggs Chaney Road and the Intercounty Connector, also known as state Route 200, where Cheeks was traveling eastbound as a passenger in a 2023 Volkswagen ID.4. The vehicle was struck by a 2008 Honda Accord exiting the Intercounty Connector, as stated in the official statement.
Cheeks was immediately transported to a nearby hospital with injuries initially believed to be non-life-threatening. Tragically, she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The investigation into the collision remains active and ongoing, according to the police statement. However, it did not mention whether charges will be filed in relation to the incident.
