Benjamin Earl Holdbrooks Death
A man identified as Benjamin Earl Holdbrooks, aged 42, passed away in the hospital after being struck by a car on Friday night.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Highway 81, close to Iva. The driver of the 2014 Jeep involved in the collision was unharmed.
The collision took place as the Jeep was heading south on SC 81 and collided with the man, who was also traveling in the same direction on the highway.
The victim was rushed to AnMed, where he succumbed to his injuries at around 12:17 a.m. The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office are currently conducting an investigation into the accident.
