The Martin County Sheriff’s Office disclosed the identities of the two remaining individuals who perished in the incident where a stolen vehicle plunged into the St. Lucie River earlier this week. WPTV reported that the bodies recovered from the river on Wednesday were Jerry Choisy, aged 19, and Geovany Alexis, aged 18.
The car they were traveling in went into the water close to the junction of Southwest Kanner Highway and Southeast Cove Road in the early hours of Tuesday.
Sheriff William Snyder of Martin County had previously mentioned on Tuesday that the body of a 17-year-old, later identified as Marcus Griffin from Lake Worth, was discovered inside the submerged vehicle shortly after the accident.
Two other occupants of the car, an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy from Boynton Beach, were found alive following the crash.
Although they were initially taken into custody, they were later released. Snyder stated that the teenagers might potentially face capital murder charges, as the State Attorney’s Office advised against making any immediate arrests.
