Suspects Hernan Torres, Sr, Hernan Torres, Jr. and Hernando Torres arrested and charged for the murder of Luis Alfredo Pacheco

The second man was transported to a hospital with injuries deemed to be life-threatening.

Three suspects, identified as Hernan Torres, Sr. (aged 50), Hernan Torres, Jr. (aged 25), and Hernando Torres (aged 19), have been charged in connection with a fatal shooting incident that occurred on April 1 at 2490 South Wayside Drive around 8:20 p.m.

The charges, including murder, have been filed in the 338th State District Court. Booking photos of all three suspects are provided with this news release.

The deceased victim has been identified as Luis Alfredo Pacheco, aged 34. Another victim, aged 29, was critically injured and transported to a nearby hospital.

Detectives R. Waterwall and C. Vaughn of the HPD Homicide Division provided the following report:

Upon receiving a shooting report at a convenience store at the specified location, HPD patrol officers and Harris County Precinct 6 deputy constables promptly responded and discovered two men injured by gunshots.

Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived on the scene and conveyed one of the men, later identified as Mr. Pacheco, to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The second man was transported to a hospital with injuries deemed to be life-threatening.

Based on a preliminary investigation and evidence collected at the scene, it was found that the two victims, accompanied by two other men, exited the convenience store and entered a black SUV. At that moment, a silver Dodge Charger and a silver Mercedes Benz approached the SUV.

Two males exited the Dodge, while one male exited the Mercedes Benz, and all three individuals discharged multiple shots towards the SUV.

Subsequently, the suspects fled the scene in the Charger and Mercedes. Surveillance photos of the wanted suspects, described at that time solely as adult Hispanic males wearing white, along with images of the vehicles, were made public on April 2nd.

Subsequent investigation led to the identification of the Torres family as the suspects in this case.

On Monday, May 6th, the HPD South Gessner Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team, in collaboration with agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the U.S. Marshals, apprehended Hernan Torres, Jr. and Hernando Torres without any complications.

Meanwhile, the third suspect, Hernan Torres, Sr., is detained in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on unrelated charges. Presently, he awaits extradition back to Harris County.

A booking photo from Harris County in 2022 is included with this news release.
