Upon arrival, the situation escalated, resulting in an exchange of gunfire between a suspect and police. Tragically, an MLPD officer was struck by a bullet and sustained injuries.
The injured officer underwent surgery and is currently recovering. The suspect was also injured in the exchange and received treatment at Samaritan Hospital before being released.
