Lynda Cardwell, who had been battling multiple sclerosis for a very long time, passed away last night. Here are a couple of my favorite images showing her. She was one of the first anchors for the Golf Channel, and she is currently working on the set of that channel. One of them is with some very close pals. Today morning, one of them sent me a letter in which they stated, “We had some good times.” We certainly did. Recalling Sherry Reeves Cardwell in my thoughts.
Her mother, Sherry, informed me that Lynda Cardwell had passed away at approximately seven o’clock last night. Throughout the years, Lynda had been battling multiple sclerosis. Lynda Cardwell was destined for the big time even when she was still a teenager.
During the years leading up to Coach Bryant’s retirement, she was a student at the University of Alabama and she reported on him.Following graduation, the native of Hokes Bluff, Alabama went on to become a highly sought-after television anchor and reporter. In the year 1995, Lynda was the one who got the phone call.
The Golf Channel was going to be established in Orlando by Joe Gibbs, a businessman from Birmingham, and Arnold Palmer, a golfing great. The two individuals were planning to establish the company together.
Lynda Cardwell, who is 33 years old, was chosen to be the lead anchor on Mr. Gibbs and Mr. Palmer’s nightly show named “Golf Central” because of her talent and personality. Brian Hammons served as the co-host for the show. As the new show on the national television network went on the air, Lynda Cardwell was the one who spoke the first words on the program.
After working there for a few years, Lynda decided to leave in order to pursue her own goals. After receiving a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, she fought valiantly against the condition for approximately thirty years. During the past few years, Lynda had been residing in a care home located in Piedmont, Alabama.
The fact that Lynda would send encouraging notes to staff workers and tell each and every one of them that she loved them is something that her mother, Sherry, informed me about when she would visit her daughter virtually every day. Sherry, the mother of Lynda, who is now 62 years old, described her daughter as a fighter. Even though she was going through difficult times, she managed to maintain a grin. Lynda was more concerned with her caregivers and doctors.
