Sadly, Take Hart and Full Monty performer Colin Bennett has passed away. Actor Tom Bennett, his son, who has acted in series like EastEnders and After Life, revealed the tragic news on X, a platform that was once known as Twitter.
Tom shared a heartfelt remembrance of his father on social media, along with a picture of the man: “My Dad, Mr. Bennett, sadly passed away 2 weeks ago today. I can’t quite find the right words yet. He was my hero. “I will miss him more than he will ever know,” he wrote as he concluded his post. Dad, you have my affection.
Colin will be most known for his portrayal of Mr. Bennett in the 1977–1983 television series Take Hart for kids. He collaborated with the late Tony Hart on this BBC art programme featuring Morph, an animated character.
According to the Mirror, Colin portrayed the same character in the TV spin-off Hartbeat, which ran from 1984 to 1989. Colin has performed in television series such as Luna, the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and You Should Be So Lucky.
