As a seamstress at both the Cowan Hat Factory and Lanier Coat Factory, Vera poured her heart and soul into her work, infusing each stitch with precision and care. Beyond her work, Vera found solace and joy in the beauty of nature and the tranquility of her family farm. Whether tending to her beloved garden or embarking on leisurely rides to soak in the sights of the countryside, Vera found peace in the simplicity of rural life. Her love for the outdoors extended to visits to Sewanee, where she delighted in exploring the scenic trails and marveling at the wonders of the natural world Throughout her life, Vera faced adversity with grace and resilience, embodying a spirit of fortitude that inspired all who knew her.
