Tragedy struck near Millsboro on Tuesday as a 20-year-old Lewes man lost his life in a harrowing head-on collision. Delaware State Police have identified the victim as Willi Aguilar-Garcia, who was at the wheel of a Cadillac CTS.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on John J. Williams Highway (Route 24), just west of William Street Road. Preliminary reports from law enforcement indicate that Aguilar-Garcia was traveling eastbound when his vehicle unexpectedly veered across the centerline.
The Cadillac CTS then entered the westbound lane, first making contact with a GMC Terrain in a sideswipe motion before ultimately colliding head-on with a Dodge Ram. Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene, and Aguilar-Garcia was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Despite efforts to save him, the young man succumbed to his injuries, marking a devastating loss for his family and the community. The drivers of the other two vehicles involved in the collision were fortunate to escape with non-life-threatening injuries,
