Tragic Four-Vehicle Collision Claims Life of 85-Year-Old Florida Man in New Canaan
A devastating multi-vehicle accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in New Canaan, resulting in the tragic loss of life of an 85-year-old man from Florida. Frank Lawrence Brantner, a resident of St. Petersburg, Florida, was driving his Lexus 350 RC on Route 15 north when the accident took place just before exit 37 around 3 p.m.
According to state police, the incident began when a Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling in the right lane of the highway, while a GMC Sierra was in the left lane. A Kia Forte, driven by a third person, was following behind the pickup and had slowed down in response to the vehicle ahead. Brantner, who was driving the Lexus, failed to stop in time and struck the rear of the Kia Forte.
The impact caused a chain reaction, resulting in the Forte colliding with both the pickup and the Sierra. Miraculously, the drivers of the Ford F-150 and GMC Sierra were not injured in the accident. The driver of the Forte sustained only minor injuries and was transported to Norwalk Hospital for further evaluation.
Tragically, Brantner was unresponsive when emergency responders arrived on the scene and was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to the same hospital. The news of his passing has sent shockwaves through the community, with friends, family, and fellow travelers mourning the loss of a beloved individual.
State police have appealed to the public for any witnesses to come forward and contact authorities as part of their investigation into the crash. As the community comes together to support the family and loved ones of Brantner, they are also urging drivers to exercise extreme caution on the roads and to always be mindful of their surroundings.
The incident serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for vigilance while driving. Brantner’s tragic passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.”
