earlier today, the chino police department instructed don lugo high school to lock down at 1:55 p.m. due to activity south of the school. the lockdown was lifted at 2:07 p.m. principal dr. cabrera promptly notified parents through phone calls, texts, and emails.
in a separate incident, a potential shooting was reported at t.j. maxx, located at 4040 grand ave. in the chino spectrum marketplace. however, chino police department sergeant franklin confirmed that “there was no weapon or shooting.”
an off-duty officer pursued a male suspect after a woman’s pocketbook was stolen inside t.j. maxx. the suspect was later approached by police at a nearby eatery, allegedly the waba grill, and taken into custody.
