GUADALUPE GARCIA OBITUARY, DEATH: TUCSON POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL CAR ACCIDENT
Tucson, AZ – An 80-year-old woman, Guadalupe Garcia, has tragically passed away from injuries sustained in a car accident on October 20. According to Tucson Police, the accident occurred when Garcia attempted to make a left turn from eastbound Broadway onto northbound Columbus Boulevard in her Ford Focus just after 12:30 p.m.
While making the turn, her vehicle was struck by a Ford Escape driven by 22-year-old Huntre Blake Shepherd, who was heading northbound on Columbus. Following the collision, Garcia was transported to Banner University Main, where she remained under medical care until she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday, November 2.
Shepherd, who also sustained minor injuries in the crash, received treatment at a hospital. Police confirmed that neither driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident. Initially, Shepherd was taken into custody on suspicion of aggravated assault due to the injuries Garcia sustained.
However, with her passing, authorities are now planning to present the case to the Pima County Attorney’s Office for further evaluation.
