Gary Deleo Obituary, Death: Tragic Accident Claims Life of 64-Year-Old Stamford Man, Gary Deleo, While Assisting Customer
We regret to inform you that Gary Deleo, a 64-year-old Stamford man, has lost his life in a tragic accident on Magee Avenue on Wednesday.
According to Sgt. Jeffrey Booth, Deleo was working at a local business and was assisting a customer when he was fatally hit by a front-end loader.
The loader involved in the incident was being operated by a 24-year-old resident, who was uninjured and remained at the scene to speak with officers.
Following the accident, Deleo was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad (CARS) are actively investigating the accident.
Booth stated that OSHA is the primary agency overseeing the investigation, with the police department providing support until all investigative work is complete.
The business where Deleo worked is located at 124 Magee Avenue, an address that records show is home to both a landscape supply company and a concrete delivery service.
