Jordan Immanuel Davis Obituary, Death: Gun Violence Claims Life of 30-Year-Old Birmingham Resident

The Birmingham community is mourning the loss of Jordan Immanuel Davis, a 30-year-old resident who was found shot dead in a street in a south Birmingham neighborhood over the weekend. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified Davis as the victim of the tragic incident, which occurred on Saturday morning on 24th Avenue South, near Green Springs Highway.

Birmingham police officers were alerted to the scene around 6:30 a.m. and found Davis unresponsive. Despite the efforts of the medical team, Davis was pronounced dead at 6:26 a.m. Local residents reported hearing a disturbance followed by gunshots before Davis was found, which has left the community shaken and searching for answers.

The authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, and Sgt. Bryan Shelton of the Birmingham Police Department has expressed condolences to Davis’ family, acknowledging the tragic nature of the incident. He assured that investigators would work diligently to bring some closure to the grieving family. However, no arrests have been made so far, and the case will be reviewed by the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office to determine if charges will be filed.

Of these cases, nine have been deemed justifiable, and two other victims died this year from injuries sustained in previous years. Across Jefferson County, there have been 165 homicides in total, including the 131 in Birmingham.
