Beverly Donna Yee Death: Beloved Wife, Mother, and Nurse Passes Away Peacefully at 65

Beverly Donna Yee passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 5, 2024, at the age of 65, after a brave battle with ALS. She was surrounded by her loving family in Palo Alto, CA.

Beverly’s legacy as a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend leaves an enduring impact on all the lives she touched. Born on July 29, 1959, in San Francisco, Beverly lived a rich life filled with accomplishments and compassion.

She excelled in academics and athletics while attending local schools, including Clarendon Elementary, Herbert Hoover Middle, and Lowell High School. A multi-talented individual, Beverly was active in sports like basketball, flag football, and track, and played in the orchestra.

Her strong ties to the Chinatown community were reflected in her involvement with Cameron House, where she developed her lifelong passion for service. Beverly’s desire to help others led her to pursue a career in nursing, earning her degree from SF State College in 1981 and later completing her Master’s from UCSF in 1988.

For 36 years, she worked at the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Hospital, where she served with dedication in departments such as Blind Rehab, Geriatrics, and Cardiothoracic Surgery. Her kindness and expertise left a lasting impact on her patients and colleagues alike.

In 1983, Beverly married Jon Yee, and together they raised three wonderful children: Stuart, Serena, and Sylvia. Family was at the heart of Beverly’s life, and she took great joy in spending time with her loved ones.

Whether through Scouts, sports, or family road trips and camping adventures, Beverly treasured every moment. One of her personal goals was to visit all 63 U.S. National Parks, a passion she shared with her family. Together, they visited 56 parks, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held on September 19, 2024, at Palo Alto Alta Mesa Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the ALS Network to support research efforts in finding a cure.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Yee family. May the memory of Beverly’s loving spirit bring comfort and peace to all who knew her during this time of immense loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family as they honor her extraordinary life.

Beverly’s passing has left a profound impact on those who knew her, but her legacy of compassion, kindness, and dedication to her family and community will continue to inspire others.
