Scott Huff Obituary, Death – Family Remembers Victim of Fiery Accident on Interstate 80 as Dedicated and Caring Individual
The family of Scott Huff, a 51-year-old man who died in a fiery accident on Interstate 80, believes he took every possible measure to prevent harm to other drivers.
The crash occurred on Friday morning near milepost 107, and according to the Utah Highway Patrol, the accident was caused by a blown tire on a car, which led to a dump truck colliding with it, swerving off the road, and subsequently crashing.
Scott Huff was remembered by his family as a dedicated individual who loved his job as a big rig truck driver, a profession he had been in since the 1990s.
His stepson, Sean Jones, expressed the family’s devastation, stating, “We were devastated.” Jones noted that Huff had a deep passion for his job and loved being out on the road, visiting all the places it took him.
Huff was also known for his love of Halloween, a holiday he enjoyed celebrating by handing out candy to children. “We’re sad that he’s going to miss this Halloween so close,” Jones added.
Jones described Huff as a family-oriented man with a strong work ethic who always looked out for others, even inspiring Jones to obtain his own commercial driver’s license.
The family was heartbroken upon hearing the news of Huff’s death. Jones shared his distress, saying, “I was hoping that it was a bad case of a telephone because I had been calling around. Myself and my mother couldn’t reach him.”
