Bryan Dahm Obituary: 36-Year-Old Woodstock Man Killed in Tragic UTV Crash on Thayer Road
The McHenry County Coroner’s Office has identified one of the two men who lost their lives in a tragic utility terrain vehicle (UTV) crash on Thayer Road near Hebron late Saturday. The deceased individual has been identified as 36-year-old Bryan Dahm from Woodstock, Illinois.
The identity of the second man who died remains unknown, as further testing is required to confirm it, according to a news release from the coroner’s office. An autopsy conducted on Dahm revealed that he suffered from thermal injuries, and toxicology tests are currently pending to provide additional details.
Authorities had initially reported that three individuals were involved in the crash, with the two men who died previously being identified as residents of Harvard, Illinois. However, this identification has since been revised as investigations continue.
The third person involved in the crash, a man from California, declined medical attention after the incident. It has been confirmed that Dahm and the Californian were passengers in the UTV, while a 40-year-old man from Harvard was driving.
The details of the crash paint a grim picture. The UTV reportedly rolled over several times before coming to a stop upright in a ditch, where it subsequently caught fire. The violent nature of the accident, combined with the fire, contributed to the severity of the injuries sustained by the victims.
