The incident occurred on June 24 in Lynn Township, where Wessner and a 17-year-old boy were riding on the pickup’s tailgate as another 17-year-old was operating the truck and an 18-year-old was in the passenger seat. The pickup was southbound on Leaser Road and turned left onto Follweiller Court, where Wessner fell out of the truck and struck the ground.
The occupants of the pickup truck attempted to provide medical assistance to Wessner, and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries more than three weeks later.
