Paul Francis Lyford, a beloved member of the Lyford family, passed away on July 6, 2024, at the age of 32, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on August 2, 1991, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene, Oregon, Paul grew up in a loving family with his parents, Leo and Julie Lyford, and his younger brother, Michael.

Throughout his childhood, Paul and his brother Michael were inseparable, sharing a special bond that only grew stronger as they grew older. Paul’s love for his family was evident in everything he did, and his favorite place in the world was the Lyford family reunion in Waldport, Oregon, where he celebrated his birthday every year with his cousins and loved ones.

Paul excelled academically at O’Hara and Marist Catholic schools, where he also developed a passion for sports. He went on to pursue higher education at the University of Oregon, graduating in 2014 with a degree in social science. Paul’s love for the University of Oregon was evident in everything he did, and he was a dedicated fan, attending as many games as possible.

In recent years, Paul attended Grand Canyon University, where he was working towards becoming a teacher. His dedication to his community was evident in his involvement with the Knights of Columbus at Saint Jude’s and his membership in the Saint Mary’s Sunday Choir.

Paul’s passing is a profound loss to his family and community, but his legacy will continue to inspire others to live life with love, kindness, and devotion. He is survived by his parents, Leo and Julie Lyford, and his brother, Michael. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church on August 1, 2024, at 12:15 pm, followed by burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Paul’s memory will be cherished by his large and loving extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. His warm and recognizable nod will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
