The incident occurred on Clark Road around 1:30 p.m. on July 12, where Jett was accidentally shot by a 13-year-old outside a residence, according to the authorities. The Kentucky State Police Post 7 in Richmond provided assistance in the investigation at the request of the Estill County Sheriff’s Office. Coroner Wise stated that there is no suspicion of foul play involved.

Jett was a promising young football player who was set to enroll at Madison Southern High School in Berea. He had previously played football in the Farristown Middle Football program, affiliated with the Kentucky Middle School Football Association.
