Lillian Kathleen “Kay” Ross Death: Lillian Kathleen “Kay” Ross, a Devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, Passes Away at 74, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Love, Faith, and Dedication to Family in Cross City, Florida.

Lillian Kathleen “Kay” Ross, a 74-year-old resident of Cross City, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at her home. Kay, born on October 22, 1949, to Albert Pendleton and Doris Hersey Pendleton, leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication to family.

Kay was a woman of strong Baptist faith who lived her life with unwavering devotion to her husband of 56 years, Terrell Ross, and their three children. She cherished her role as a grandmother to six grandchildren and found immense joy in their company. Kay’s commitment to her Christian beliefs was evident in her regular Bible readings and active participation in church activities.

Beyond her family life, Kay was passionate about American history, engaging in political discussions, and nurturing friendships built on shared interests. She found solace and happiness in visiting Steinhatchee and enjoying the tranquility of being near the water. Kay’s dedication extended to her community, where she worked as a paraprofessional in Dixie County schools and volunteered as a church librarian.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Doris Pendleton, her brother Victor Pendleton, and sister Vicky Tingstrom. She is survived by her loving husband Terrell, her children, grandchildren, siblings, and a large extended family of nieces and nephews who will continue to cherish her memory.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Lillian Kathleen “Kay” Ross will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Jena. Pastor David Downing will officiate the service. All arrangements are under the compassionate care of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.

As family, friends, and community members gather to bid farewell to Kay, they will reflect on the impact of her love, kindness, and steadfast faith.
