Greg Martin Obituary: Gregory Martin, a Resilient and Dedicated Accountant, Family Man, and Friend, Passes Away at 59, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Love, Strength, and Professional Excellence.
Gregory Martin, a man of unwavering strength and dedication, has peacefully departed this life on May 28, 2024, at the age of 59, surrounded by his loved ones. Despite being diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, a brain cancer, Greg defied the odds and lived almost double the time predicted by his physician, never once complaining about his fate.
Greg is survived by his sisters, Karen Danburg and Sharon Gaddie; his granddaughter, Victoria Tricamo; his unborn grandson and granddaughter (twins); numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephew, cousins, in-laws, and a host of devoted friends. His legacy is a testament to his unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and profession.
Born on November 1, Greg was a dedicated accountant who joined Kenneth Leventhal and Company in January 1983, later becoming a Partner. He then joined Ernst and Young LLP and eventually retired from Moss Adams LLP as a Partner, leading the firm’s Real Estate and Hospitality Industry Practices. His clients included the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, and Seattle Seahawks.
Greg was a member of various professional organizations, including the AICPA, CalCPA, ULI, NAIOP, and NAREIT. He also served on the Executive Committee of USC Lusk, Marshall School of Business Center for Real Estate, and the Policy Advisory Board of the UC Berkeley Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics. His passion for his career was evident in his excellence as a provider, mentor, and role model to many.
Greg’s passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew him, but his legacy will continue to inspire and uplift all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. His love for his family, friends, and profession will never be forgotten.
