Elizander Navarez-Fernandez Obituary, – Elizander Navarez-Fernandez, a 26-year-old resident of Richmond, was identified by the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday as the individual who tragically lost their life in the incident that took place at an apartment complex on Richmond Parkway.
The police were called to the Bella Vista at Hilltop complex at 3400 Richmond Parkway around 11:30 p.m. following reports of gunshots, where they discovered two victims.
While Navarez-Fernandez passed away at the scene, the other victim was rushed to a local trauma center and is currently in critical but stable condition, according to authorities.
The RPD Investigations Unit has stated that they do not believe this particular incident is connected to the homicides that occurred on June 19 and June 20 in the city.
In the June 19 shooting, Maciyah Brown, 21, and Garciapar Alvaro, 30, both residents of Richmond, lost their lives in the 700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. Shortly after, on June 20, another individual was fatally shot in the 1300 block of Kelsey Street.
The identity of this victim has not been disclosed due to the ongoing investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigations into all of the aforementioned cases remain active.
