Alesia Dyke, Bernard Lyles Obituary – The victims who lost their lives in a tragic double shooting earlier this week have been identified by the Jasper County Coroner’s Office.
Following a report of a shooting, authorities promptly arrived at an apartment complex on Walsh Drive at approximately 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday.
At the scene, Alesia Dykes, aged 40, was pronounced dead. Bernard Lyles, aged 38, was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries later on.
Law enforcement successfully apprehended a suspect named Charles Saunders in Ridgeland. He has been charged with two counts of Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime.
The Jasper County Coroner’s Office expressed their deepest sympathies and offered their prayers to the family and friends of the victims through a social media post.
