Lamarvion Aviticus Obituary, 21-year-old killed at Hope Mills car wash, 2 men wanted

Fort Liberty soldier who was tragically shot and killed near a car wash in Hope Mills. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office reported that Lamarvion Aviticus, a 21-year-old from Fayetteville, was found dead on June 4 at the USA Car Wash on Deaver Circle.

According to Aviticus’ mother, Kisal Gilchrist, her son was last seen leaving a 7-Eleven on Ramsey Street after an argument before the shooting occurred. Gilchrist received a phone call from a family friend in the early morning hours of Tuesday, informing her about the incident.

In an interview with WRAL News, Gilchrist described her panic upon receiving the call and her immediate desire to know the location of the incident. She contacted her brother, who arrived at the scene before her. When Gilchrist arrived, she found the area filled with police officers.

Despite the police’s attempts to keep her away from the scene, Gilchrist pleaded to see her son. She managed to sneak around the bushes and saw Aviticus lying on the ground without his shirt, having been shot multiple times in the face, hip, and shoulder, as informed by the funeral home.

Expressing her emotions, Gilchrist shared that while she feels anger, she also maintains compassion for those responsible for her son’s death. She emphasized her hope that they would turn themselves in to the authorities.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for two men, Allon John Richard Tedder, 23, and Keymonte Raquan Johnson, 24, both from Fayetteville, for questioning in relation to the homicide. As of now, their whereabouts remain unknown.

Aviticus, who served at Fort Liberty and retired from the Army last year, was laid to rest on June 14. Gilchrist mentioned that her son was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his child in July and described him as someone who loved everyone deeply. If you have any information regarding this case, please come forward and assist the authorities.
