Brandon Mark Baker Obituary, Death: McAlester Mourns the Loss of Beloved Correctional Officer and Devoted Family Man

Brandon Mark Baker, a cherished son, father, and friend, passed away on June 15, 2024, at the age of 41, surrounded by his loved ones in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His unexpected demise has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of Brandon’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Life Church in McAlester, led by Rev. Terren Anderson. The Department of Corrections Honors Team will present honors, and a list of esteemed individuals will serve as honorary pallbearers. Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory is handling the arrangements for the cremation and services.

Born on October 14, 1982, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Linda Baker, Hal Baker, and Merril Judge, Brandon grew up in McAlester, graduating from McAlester High School in 2001. He pursued a career in law enforcement, working as a Correctional Officer at Oklahoma State Penitentiary for the Department of Corrections.

Brandon’s love for life was evident in his adventurous spirit and passion for fast travel, shooting, and fishing. His boundless enthusiasm will be deeply missed by his family, including his parents, Hal Mark Baker and Linda Baker of McAlester, Merril Judge of California, and his children, Bryson Lee Baker and Liam Jax Baker.

He is also survived by his sisters, Lacye Carney and husband Michael of Allen, Skylar Burnett and husband David of Krebs, and his fiancé, Ronda Parrott of McAlester. Brandon’s paternal grandparents, Alva and Juanita Baker, preceded him in death.

Brandon’s family and friends will deeply miss his infectious laughter, his love for the outdoors, and his unwavering dedication to his loved ones. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

In the face of this unimaginable loss, Brandon’s loved ones find solace in the outpouring of support from their community and the cherished memories they shared with him. His celebration of life will be a testament to the impact he had on those around him.

Brandon Mark Baker may be gone, but his spirit will never be forgotten. His love for life, his family, and his community will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his memory will be a blessing to all who had the privilege of calling him a friend, a son, a father, and a brother.
