Bernice Pawilan Obittuary,
Bernice Pawilan, a 76-year-old woman from Ingleside, tragically lost her life in a chain-reaction crash involving four vehicles on the Tri-State Tollway near O’Hare. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed her identity.
The incident occurred on I-294 southbound near Golf Road in Des Plaines. Three other individuals involved in the crash were taken to local hospitals with varying injuries. The cause of the crash has not been determined by the Illinois State Police.
As the investigation is ongoing, three left lanes were temporarily closed for the scene to be cleared and examined. However, by 8:30 p.m., the lanes were reopened.
