Ken Brewer Spring Arbor, MI Death: Longtime Professor at Spring Arbor University has died

Dr. Ken Brewer passed away unexpectedly at his home on the evening of Monday, May 13, due to a health condition that was already known to him. We are mourning the unexpected passing of Dr. Brewer, Professor of Theology, and we unite our hearts in prayer for his family as they come together from all over the country to celebrate his life in the midst of their loss.

Because of Ken’s 21-year career at SAU, thousands of individuals all around the world have had their lives changed and been inspired by him.

His pupils were pushed and encouraged to think deeply about faith and life as a result of his mild New Jersey accent, quick humour, and outstanding understanding on the subject.

Ken ministered to the homeless at Interfaith Jackson, led the burdened through sessions on emotional and spiritual healing, and talked with young people about understanding God’s will while he was travelling and conversing in circles with theologians and scholars such as Hans Kung, Richard Foster, Thomas Oden, and William Abraham. During this time, Ken also led sessions on how to understand God’s will.

Ken has a deep affection for his family and is regarded as a hero by his sons, Greg and Steven. In spite of the fact that we are overjoyed that he is now with the Lord, we are aware that he will be sorely missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know him.

Ken Brewer Studied Religion/Philosophy at Spring Arbor University. He also Studied Christian Theology at Princeton Theological Seminary and Studied Theological Studies at Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen.
He also Studied at Asbury Theological Seminary and Studied Theological and Religious Studies at Drew University. He was born and raised in Hazel Park, Michigan but later moved to Spring Arbor, MI where he lived until his time of death.
