Please choose an alternate route this morning and be safe on the roadways. As of right now, West Highway 40 is closed from South West 180 Avenue Road to South West 140 Avenue as a result of a catastrophic collision that resulted in deaths.
The Florida Highway Patrol is currently on the scene and conducting an investigation.
UPDATE: Marion County’s State Road 40 has been closed due to a deadly collision that occurred early on Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Around 6:40 a.m., an accident occurred on S.R. 40 close to SW 157th Terrace in the vicinity of Ocala. Although State Road 40 is closed in the vicinity, no information on the collision has been made public. Return for updates.
