Highway 97 reopens after Peachland Crash in British Columbia

South of Peachland, Highway 97 has currently reopened to traffic. Until the backlog is cleared, drivers should anticipate experiencing delays. According to a driver that traveled from Penticton to Kelowna on the 201 Forest Service Road, the road is in “good shape.”

It is only dry and has gotten a little bit worse for visibility, but other than that, everything is OK. According to Jeremy Smid, a driver, “I started at around three o’clock in the afternoon, and there was some light traffic.”

According to Smid, the journey took approximately two hours. Castanet is informed by a different reader that the Trout Main Forest Service Road is likewise in satisfactory shape and can be utilized as an alternative to circumvent the accident.

The provincial government made the path known to the public as a means of avoiding the landslide that occurred in Summerland the previous year, and it has been continued to be maintained ever since.

In the direction of Peachland, the Trout Main Freeway connects to Princeton Avenue, and in the direction of Summerland, it connects to the Princeton-to-Summerland Road corridor.

People who are traveling between Summerland and Peachland will benefit more from taking the Trout Main FSR route, which will add an additional 90 minutes to their journey time. If you are traveling between Penticton and Kelowna, you should take the 201 Freeway Service Road. Both of these pathways are made of gravel.
